On our way back from Acadia we wanted to be sure we visited the L.L. Bean headquarters and flagship store in Freeport - it didn't disappoint! The store signs stated 'Service Animals only' but given that their brands own dog is a golden retriever and we'd come all that way.... I asked an employee if it would be okay for Riley to come in. Much to my delight, she said so long as she was leashed and well behaved. YAY!
Once inside, this place really impresses! It is their flagship store in the U.S. and is set out on a campus style, with individual L.L. Bean stores for Home, Outdoors, Fashion etc. It's absolutely huge AND it has a dog section which we enjoyed perusing (as did Riley!). She got sooooo much attention there and was constantly stopped for pets which was so cute! Even the employees were desperate to come say hi to Riley - Maine really is such a dog friendly place, so refreshing!
